Pixar is a movie production company that  targets children and middle age children with cartoon and animated movies. Their logo is especially successful due to their relation to the particular movie that the logo is featured on. Also, when the logo is featured, it tends to have some kind of animated alteration association involved which shows some fun way of skewing the logo in some fashion. Since the logo endures so much abuse, I think it rather genius to keep the font and colors as average and times new roman as possible as to not over due the appearance.
